My Desktop Computer - Hard Disc Problem

For the past few months, when I boot from desktop I used to get a error CMOS\GPNV Checksum bad error, I keep pressing F4 and kept working. To resolve this problem I downloaded the latest patch from Intel for the mother board and also replaced with a new CMOS battery and suddenly Harddisc was not detectable.

I have given my harddisc to check whether it can be recovered. Hope I can recover my data from my hard disc.

Nokia 5610 Music Edition

I purchased my Nokia 5610 Music Edition few months back, It cost around me Rs11,900 INR.
I dropped the phone couple of time due to careless mistake of mine and music slider was broken in the phone.

When I went to repair the same in Nokia showroom in Anna Nagar 2 weeks back , there was shock awaiting me I had to pay Rs650 INR.

Again My Son removed black plastic around the slider, which I am waiting to fix it again.

I am not impressed with this model though the Music quality is good. I found of couple of defects in the model.

1) Music Volume at times doesn't work, have to switch-off and switch-on again for proper working.

2) At times when the signal is not available it gets switched-off. I feel sometime it get switched-off. automatically.

Dell Inspiron 8200 Battery

I purchased my Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop way back in 2002 in USA Houston. My laptop battery got drained sometime back. I recently called Dell Support centre at Bangalore and found that model is outdated and Dell doesn't support this model and support people told they will not change the laptop for new models.


I tried through some other sources and got the orginal battery with 1 year gurranty with no bills. It cost me around Rs6450 INR. Though It is very expensive one I thought it will be useful for my Son.

Traffic Chaos

Yesterday(24-Oct-2008) I started from My Office at 7.30 PM, reached home by 12.15 AM next day, thanks to the poor roads, festive seasons , Rains and Human chain organized by the government. The road from Maduravoil junction to the By-Pass road is pathetic. The government has done no action to rectify the road. I have been travelling through the road for past 8 months still nothing has been done for betterment of the road. A fly over is planned to construcuted there, it is taking ages for that to complete.



Hope the Maduravoil junction road would be relaid soon, so that it would be helpful to thousands of commuters like me passing through the road every day.

Nuclear Deal - Done Deal

Nuclear deal between India and U.S has been finally signed between India and U.S last Friday(10-Oct-2008) . I think this deal would be beneficial to India in the long term. Though BJP opposes this now it was them who took the initiative in initial phase of the deal when they were in government. Dr. Abdul Kalam is very much for the deal. Chinese, Left parties in India were stumbling blocks to this deal and finally it went through. US President G W Bush took lot of intiative in talking with Chinese President in the final stages of the deal. Dr Manohan singh and Pranab Muherjee deserve some praise for thier initiative from their side. India gets a wavier from Nuclear Supplier Group without signing Compreshesive Test Ban Treat(CTBT) is great feat.

Visit to Srimushnam and Thirukovillur

Since it was holiday(02-Oct-08) yesterday on account of Gandhi Jayanthi we started from around 6.15 AM from our house to Srimushnam. We reached around 11.45 AM to the temple we had very good dharsan of Sri Boovaragaswami. This is one of the 8 temples which is self created representing varaha avathar. The moolaavar is very small appearing in the form of Boar.
Srimushnam is around 240 KMS from Chennai and from Virdhachalam it is around 20 Kms.

While returing back we visited Thirukovillur Sri Thiruvikaramar temple it was great view of Perumal standing with one leg and another leg facing the sky. This is one of the divya desa temple and it is where naalariya divya prabandham orginated. The first 3 alwars recited the prabandham here.

The morning break fast at Hotel Brindavan was not good and we had lunch at Hotel Archana in Virdahchalam that too was not good and in the night we had food at Motel High way which was good.
