My Stay at Penang

I came to Penang, Malaysia for my software assigment in Kulim which is in Kedah state. By the way Malaysia has 13 states, Penang,Kedah are two among them. I stayed in Butterworth which is in Penang Mainland. I am pure Veg. and life is very diffcult for people who eat pure Veg. here in Malaysia.

Weather
The weather here is very hot & humid and most of the time it is hot. It rains at times in the late afternoon & evening.

Currency
The local currency here is Ringett(RM).
1 RM= 11.20INR at times they buy for 10.80INR.


Main Attractions In Penang are
1. Penang Rail - Small trip by train(Have to two trains) to the top of the hill. Have to wait for longer periods to get tickets to train on weekends.
2. BattuFerringgi - Small Beach, where one go paragliding and as well as motor riding. Not much interest who have seen chennai beaches.
3. Pakoda - Buddhist Temple.
4. Snake Temple
5. Reclining Buddha Temple
6. Amman Temples in Butterworth,GeorgeTown in Little India.
7. FERI travel from Butterwoth mainland to Island is worth a try.

Butter worth Indian Hotel's
1. Ananda Bhawan( Not the Indian version). It has veg & non veg. Had BreakFast most of the time on saturday & sundays here as there not much options for me. Not my favorite place.

2. Saravans (Not the Indian Version). It has veg & non veg. Not my favorite place.

The above hotels are also called banana leaf hotels as they food in Green leaf which is very good thing.

We can get best IndianVeg Food at Penang island the area is called George Town.

1. Woodlands - My Favourite to have best food in Penang.I have travel by Bus & FERI and walk to get some good food.

Cooking Food is the best option for vegetarians and there are small hotel you can see every where in Penang(Pinang in Malay).

Commuting

Luxury Buses are okay and fares seems to be okay.

Taxi fares are on the expensive side here.Getting taxi for hire is also expensive.

We can find others car from Toyota,Honda on the road.

Travel to work
We travel to work on Van from Butterworth to Kuilm Hi Tech Park daily the travel is about 30 minutes one way.

Time Pass
I killed most of the weekend time watching movies in Astro(Astro is connection which you need to have here to view Star Movies,HBO & Sports,Discovery,National Geographic etc channel) we should also pay monthly rentals as well as initial charges.
