Visit to MelKote and Thondanur

Two week back(12-Sep t0 14-Sep) we visited MelKote and Thondanur. We started from Chennai around 2.45 PM on 12-Sep-08 and reached Bangalore around 9.30 PM and started next morning(13-Sep-08) to have of darshan of MelKote Thirunarayanapuram which is towards Mysore. We had Vishwaroopa Darshan in MelKote Thirunarayanapuram temple around 9 AM and I climbed the hill to have darshan of Yoga Narashimar. We stayed in Ramanashree Hotel in Mysore and couldn't get Accommodation in Mysore Dasaprakah hotel. We also visited Mysore Zoo for the sake of my Son.

Thondanur is 45KM before mysore and must see place. We took the priest from Gopalakrishanan temple to open the temple where Ramanujar answered questions from 1000 Jain saints simultaneously from behind a curtain in the form of ADISHESHA. We also had quick view of Udayavar River.
He is seen in ADISHESHA AVATHAR in Sri Narasimhar temple. While at Thondanur, Sri Yathiraja showed some of his powers in driving away the Evil Spirits from the daughter of King Bitti Devaraya. Impressed by his TEJAS BEARING PERSONALITY, TEACHINGS AND POWERS of Sri Ramanuja, the Hoysala King BITTI DEVARAYA, who was a Jain, got blessed by no other than Sri Yatheendra, became a Vaishnava and was given the name of VISHNU VARDHANA
