Ramanujar Birthday Today

Two weeks back I was watching a video about Ramanujar one of the Chief Architect in spreading Vaishanavisam and in the video they mentioned importance of visting Sripermabathur on the birthday of Ramanujar. By God grace I had a chance to visit Sripermabathur today(23-Jul-2006). We spend more than 3 hours in the temple and huge turn out at the temple from various cross sections of the people. The good thing is that we got the blessing of Ramanujar and Andal. I really admire Ramanujar for the work he had done for Vaishanava community. I also visited Thirumazhi one of the important 108 Vaishanav temples. One of thing that impressed me about Ramanujar is that he visited his guru called Nambi 18 times to get know the about a slogan which can bring happiness to the entire world. The guru told the slogan to Ramanujar after his 18th visit and told him not to tell it anyone and warned he might go to hell if he reveals the slogan. Ramanujar after hearing the slogan went to the top of the temple and told the slogan to the people who has gathered there. I think Ramanujar understood the importance of Information Sharing and showed the way for the world.I was blessed to visit Ramanujar birthday today. I suggest if people get a chance please visit this place.

A Visit to local Resort

As usual at the last minute this saturday(22-jul-2006) morning I decided to join my team for a visit to local resort(Buena Vista) near Perungudi in Chennai. The Team decided to meet in our office start at 7.30AM and need to say few people came late and our start got delayed. Thanks to subbu(also for arranging the trip) and Abhishek for bringing their car we could reach their comfortably. Perungudi is quite a distance from the city. We had welcome drink but I didn't like that and I started feel hungry since it was already past 10.00 AM and we had some dosas and after that we started playing carrom. I really enjoyed playing carrom after a long time, I don't remember when I last played carrom it should be more than 10 years I suppose. We then moved on to play cricket, one of my favorite sport and we spend some time in swimming pool before breaking for lunch. I didn't like my lunch over there and again we played carrom and cricket, by the time we finished playing cricket I was almost exhausted. At the end It was really nice and different day having spent the time with team and I really enjoyed it.

Recent Reading

I was just going through the book "The Road less travelled" by Scott Peck MD. One of the Newyork best sellers. The authors makes a begins a statement by saying that "Life is diffcult" that impressed me the most. The other fact i liked about the book he talked about Delaying Gratifications, i.e to take to painful job first and to do the job which gives pleasure later. The author also talks about the taking time to do particular job and also time management which he relates to his personal life and which is pretty interesting reading.

I think this is must read for every one.

Scott Gu and Scott Mitchell

I have added Scott Gu and Scott Mitchell blogs links to my blog site. I find information shared by them was very good. I suggest my blog readers to go through them regularly.

Guidance Explorer suggested by Scott Gu in his blog is pretty cool winform applications, I installed it and tried it and suggested my team to use the same and also the links for the free datamodels(http://www.databaseanswers.org/data_models) suggsted by Scott Gu was very useful.
