Housing Loans and Banks

I am not a expert in the Housing loan topic. I am sharing my perosnal experience. Having selected the Dream House after much diffculty and thought process. One has decide whether to apply home loans in Private banks(PB) or nationalized banks(NB). There too one has choose between fixed or floating interest rate. Some banks offer money market rate(I don't know what it is) -floating for 2 years and fixed for 2 years and vice versa. I am not sure how they calculate the interest rate for fixed and floating interest.


There are pros and cons in choosing NB over PB and vice versa.Similarly for fixed and floating rate.

I have decided to go Private banks with floating rate of Interest.
People say there is risk factor involved in floating rate of interest, othere say home loans interest has n't changed for the past few years. I suggest people should do a detailed analysis when selecting PB vs NB and fixed vs floating.

Rain, Rain & Rain

Rain havoc is continuing in entire tamil nadu. Chennai is no better.It seems there is no end to the rain. So many people are straving for food,shelter and many of the cities in Tamil nadu are submerged in water. tv channels said that cuddalore and trichy are the wrost affected. I hope Rain god would show some mercy so that people can get to normal life. My son was not well for the past 2 days due to dysentry,fever. We went few doctor but still dysentry problem is still there.

Auto-attach to process '[2440] w3wp.exe' on machine '...' failed. Error code 0x8013134b

I was facing this error "Auto-attach to process '[2440] w3wp.exe' on machine '...' failed. Error code 0x8013134b" when trying to debug an ASP.Net application using VS.Net2003 IDE. I have also installed beta version of VS.Net2005 in the same machine. When VS.Net2005 is installed, new tab ASP.net is added in IIS under default website. In the ASP.Net tab we can mention the which version of ASP.Net to run. I Changed the version to 1.1 and I was able to debug the code.

Dream House (to be contd)

Everybody at sometime of time want to live in their own house and it will be dream to come for many.It could be either apartment or Individual house. There are several pros & cons living in a owned apartment & Individual house(IH). I had to make one of the choices between these two. There are severals factors to be considered. I started the house hunting for 2 months and I know that my hunt was not exhsautive I finally settled for Apartment.
I am sharing my experience the fact I suggest may be known to everyone just a repeat of one more time.
There are many factors one should consider while choosing apartment or IH.

1. Budget

2. choose a location which fits into budget.

3. choose 2 or 3 triple bedroom which fits into budget.

I keep stressing budget as it is key to everything.

Key To Sucess(to be contd)

Before going further, I just want to say that I am not a guru in defining key to sucess. There are numerous topics in the web and great authors defining the key to sucess so please go through them. I would like to share few thought based on my personal experience

Key to sucess according to me

1. Whatever you learn, know it completely and understand why it is done this way. Have a Inquiring Mindset. Getting into the skin of the technology and dive deeper.
2. Effective Communication.
3. Losing Fear.

There are still others factors which I will cover later.

Windows Communication Foundation Tour

Today Morning(17-Nov-2005) I attended Microsoft's Windows Communication Foundation(WCF) Tour formerly code named Indigo by G. Khanna. The Presentation by Khanna was simply good. He explained the concepts very well and made sure people learnt a thing or two from the session. Tommorrow there is session expilictly for my company by microsoft which I am planning to attend. I learnt to a extend about Service Orientation and about WCF in today session. Microsoft is making programmer life easier and hiding all the complexities happening behind the scene.

As the Sunshine is back in Chennai , I am still waiting for my next assignment. It is really boring having any no work for quite some time now. Trying to spend time usefully by reading article,blogs. Meantime I have cleared MCSD(.Net). I hope my next assignment will be DotNet. Microsoft has announced on Nov 7 launch of Visual Studio 2005(Visual Studio 8) and Framwork2.0 and new version of Biztalk Server 2006. Microsoft has also introduced new generation of Certifications(http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/newgen) and it is targetted at for audiences right from Architect to Developers.

Extended Rain in Chennai

Chennai is witnessing extended rain due to low pressure. I can understand how people in mumbai, new orleans,mexico would have suffered due to heavy rains. Even though amount of rain is compartively small compared to mumbai and other places, chennai is flooded everywhere. My place is still worse. I was thinking whether storm water drainage is there in the first place. Managing kid in this kind of weather is very diffcult as there is water every where and can't go out.

Festival of Lights - Deepavali

For Us festival of lights began around 12.05 AM in the morning(1/11/05) with bursting of stabilizer attach to AC. Thanks to careless attitude of EB department for the excess voltage from the nearby transformer. Burst's continued with Blubs and tubes. We are powerless for 4-5 hours. Finally we found that our tv and cordless phone is also damaged due to excess voltage. I don't who is accountable for our loss. Power supply was not consistent throughout the day. That didn't dampen our spirits for the festive mood.
